The J&K Government has launched a Free Tablet Distribution Scheme for meritorious college students under the Mission Youth programme. Under this scheme, 50,000 tablets will be distributed to students studying in government degree colleges across Jammu and Kashmir.
The scheme targets students who scored above 75% marks in their Class 12 board examinations and are currently enrolled in government colleges. The tablets will be pre-loaded with educational apps, NCERT books, and offline learning resources.
Eligibility Criteria:
• Enrolled in a Government Degree College in J&K
• Class 12 marks: 75% or above
• Annual family income: Below ₹4 lakh
• Must not already own a tablet or laptop
Students can register for the scheme through the Mission Youth portal at missionyouth.jk.gov.in. The registration window is open from September 25 to October 25, 2026. Required documents include income certificate, Class 12 mark sheet, and college enrollment certificate.
The tablets will be distributed through the respective college principals. First round of distribution is scheduled for November 2026 in Jammu district. Kashmir division distribution will follow in December 2026.
