Key Scholarships Available for J&K Students:
• Prime Minister’s Scholarship for Central Armed Police Forces: ₹36,000/year
• Post-Matric Scholarship (SC/ST/OBC): Up to ₹15,000/year
• National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS): ₹12,000/year
• Begum Hazrat Mahal Scholarship for Minority Girls: ₹11,000/year
• AICTE Pragati Scholarship (Girls in Technical Education): ₹50,000/year
For J&K-specific scholarships, students should also check the J&K State Scholarship Portal at jkdss.nic.in. J&K Government offers scholarships to OBC, Pahari, Gujjar-Bakarwal, and economically backward class students through the Social Welfare Department.
How to Apply on NSP:
1. Register at scholarships.gov.in with Aadhaar number
2. Complete your profile with bank account details
3. Search eligible scholarships for your category
4. Fill application and upload documents
5. Submit by the respective scholarship deadline
Most scholarship applications on NSP close by October 31, 2026. Students are advised to apply early and ensure their bank account is Aadhaar-linked for direct benefit transfer. Scholarship amounts are directly credited to the student’s account, usually within 90 days.
