Detailed guide on J&K Bank student loans covering tuition fees, hostel expenses, laptop allowance, and government interest subsidies under CSIS.

The Jammu and Kashmir Bank (J&K Bank) has announced comprehensive revisions to its Higher Education Financing Schemes for the 2026 academic session. Aimed at empowering meritorious students across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh to pursue top-tier undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in India and abroad, the updated scheme features streamlined digital sanctioning, collateral-free credit limits, and full interest subsidy integration under the Central Government CSIS framework.

Key Features of J&K Bank Education Loan 2026

Under the revised guidelines, students securing admission through recognized national entrance examinations (CUET, JEE Advanced, NEET, CAT, GATE) or international university acceptance letters are eligible for the following key benefits:

  • Collateral-Free Limit: Loans up to ₹7.50 Lakh require zero tangible collateral security or third-party guarantor. Parents or legal guardians act as co-borrowers.
  • High Quantum Loans: Up to ₹20.00 Lakh for premier domestic institutions (IITs, IIMM, NITs, AIIMS, Central Universities) and up to ₹30.00 Lakh for accredited overseas universities with tangible collateral security.
  • Competitive Interest Rates: Concessional interest rates pegged at RLLR + 1.25% to 2.10% (effective ~8.45% to 9.30% p.a.), with a special 0.50% interest concession for female students.
  • Extended Moratorium Period: Course duration plus 1 year (or 6 months after securing employment, whichever is earlier), during which only simple interest is charged or subsidized.
  • Repayment Tenure: Flexible repayment options extending up to 15 years after the moratorium period, ensuring manageable monthly EMIs.
